The Satay Maranggi pictured above is from a giant eatery in Purwakarta Indonesia which sits 1000 per turn and it’s full at all meal times. Indonesian curators William Wongso, Odilia Wineke and Jefrie Sie highly recommended this.
Martabak Markobar from Indonesia, is essentially a Chinese style pancake (Mee Chang Kueh). It is done like a Western deep dish pizza and topped with up to 8 delicious chocolate varieties like crushed Toblerone and KitKat. It is from a stall and catering arm, owned by Pak Gibran, the son of President Jokowi of Indonesia (who cannot be at the event because he just became a father).
In January of 2013, Daniel Huerta and Isabel Sanchez were walking along the streets of Seaside, Oregon and said, “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a Churro stand here, right now?” After talking about it for a few hours, they looked at each other and had that ‘light bulb’ moment and Churros Locos was born!
