Basic Cake ToastΒ (*variations are posted below)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
4 tbsps butter
1/2 cup water
2 eggs

Procedure:
– grease baking pan with butter
– sprinkle sugar into the greased pan and tap out excess
– in a bowl, mix flour sugar, vanilla, eggs and water until there are no lumps; you may use a hand mixer as well
– place mixture in the greased baking pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until sugar top turns brown; you may check by sticking a toothpick if middle part is also done
– take out of the oven, spread some butter on the crisp top and let rest for 5 minutes before serving

Tips:
– The batter’s consistency should be a bit thinner than pancake batter
– Greasing the pan with butter helps pull out the cake after baking
– Adding butter on top of the crusty or sugary top after baking will render the cake moist even after an hour
-Let the cake rest for 5 to 10 minutes after baking so that it settles and becomes firm to the bite

Cinnamon Sugar Cake Toast
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon powder
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
4 tbsps butter
1/2 cup water
2 eggs

Procedure:
– grease baking pan with butter
– sprinkle the cinnamon sugar into the greased pan and tap out excess
– in a bowl, mix flour sugar, vanilla, eggs and water until there are no lumps; you may use a hand mixer as well
– place mixture in the greased baking pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until sugar top turns brown; you may check by sticking a toothpick if middle part is also done
– take out of the oven, spread some butter on the crisp top, sprinkle with some more cinnamon sugar and let rest for 5 minutes before serving
