FDCP: Hosts Film Industry Conference, Worshops and Rainbow Festival for QCinema

In support and in partnership with the Quezon City Film Commission, the Film Development Council of the Philippines is conducting the Film Industry Conference and the Film Producers’ Workshop Series this October 20-22, 2017 at Novotel Araneta Center, Quezon City. Bringing together big names from the international and local film industries, the Conference and Workshops will feature topics on international film production, distribution, and marketing of Filipino films.

FDCP (2017): Quality Genre Films Featured in FDCP’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino


With only days to go, the Film Development Council of the Philippines is geared and ready for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), a one-week exclusive screening of Filipino films from August 16-22, 2017 in all cinemas nationwide. This fiesta-themed celebration of Filipino films features a diverse set of quality genre films which audiences nationwide may choose from.

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino: Grand presscon at Seda Hotel Vertis North

Chair Liza Dino-Seguerra got emotional during Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino’s grand presscon. There has been a lot of controversies with the local film industry especially with the independent films genre and choosing entries of award-giving film festivals. Chair Liza calls for unity rather than promote division because in a span of a year, there has been so much development in terms of awareness, budget and support for FDCP and its partner-organizations.

Pista ng Pelikulanng Pilipino runs from August 16 to 22, 2017 in all cinemas.

In line with PPP 2017, they also launchesd an application called ‘PistApp’. Pistapp is now available for download in time for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino slated on August 16-22, 2017. National Youth Commission Chair Aiza Seguerra of the National Youth Commission was also at Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino grand presscon to introduce NYC’s chosen short film entries.


FDCP: Disowns connections with Film ASEAN Inc.


The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has released an official statement disowning any connection to the non-government organization called Film ASEAN (Southeast Asia Film Development Foundation, Inc.).

Film ASEAN started as an FDCP program during the chairmanship of Briccio Santos but is now operating as a private organization. The Council has clarified that there are no ties between it and the Film ASEAN and that any agreements entered into by the organization are illegal and have no effect.

“FDCP is the sole agency that is empowered by law to enter into agreements with local and foreign agencies on matters relating to film or the cinematic arts, and the Film ASEAN is in no way connected to the Council,” said Liza Diño, Chairperson and CEO of the FDCP.

“If the public is aware of any Film ASEAN transactions relating to FDCP, please let us know as soon as possible,” she added.


FDCP Goes to the Regions: Visayas and Mindanao Film Forums

The new chairperson and the FDCP are coming this August to the Visayas and Mindanao regions and inviting all from the regional film communities for a film forum to discuss the needs and concerns of filmmakers, film academics and students, and enthusiasts in country.

Visayas Film Forum (August 28)And for those in Iloilo, the Visayas Film Forum happens on August 28, Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm, at the Cinematheque Iloilo, B&C Square Bldg., Iznart cor. Solis Sts., Iloilo City.
