Why the name “7 Flavors”? It is from the seven basic tastes: bitter, salty, sour, astringent, sweet, pungent (ex. chili), and umami or savory. There are however five basic tastes that the tongue is sensitive to: salt, sweet, bitter, sour, and umami, the taste of MSG.

7 Flavors is owned by ‘Kusina Master’ Chef Pablo ‘Boy’ Logro and almost all the dishes are his own recipe. They serve seven different dishes everyday depending on the fresh supply of ingredients. Though they constantly have the MYO (make your own) 7F Tacos and Halo-Halo.

Once you arrive there’s ample parking and the facade of this two-storey restaurant is Instagram-worthy. Their al fresco dining is located at the ground floor which is is adorned by greenery and ample lighting. The walkway towards the main entrance has a wall with Chef Boy in action. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by the staff and while waiting to be seated, their Japanese-style waiting area is cozy with throw pillows to boot.

So enough of the accessibility, ambience and all that jazz and let’s get started with the food!

My favorites on that day of visit were (photos above):

Crispy Barbecue Wings – sticky, savory and spiced just right. I went back for seconds!

Baked Macaroni – one of the best I’ve tasted in the metro. Its addictive, cheesy and creamy. I wish they could sell it for take out.

7F Tacos – its one of their best sellers and with one bite, I totally know why! You make your own with their taco shells that are crispy and chip-thick, the ground pork is cooked right to the bite combined with diced tomatoes & shredded lettuce, but the sauce is what makes it taste different topped with grated cheese.

Seafood in Red Thai Curry – there may be steamed mussels or clams but you don’t see much of seafood curry in a buffet in the metro so this is a delight eating with scooping up the meat of the shellfish with some of the sauce.

Roasted Tamarind Chicken – this is another dish that you usually don’t see in buffets in the metro. A savory & tangy chicken dish to definitely try.

Cebu Lechon – who doesn’t go for lechon right, and Cebu lechon at that! Though I didn’t get the chance to ask if they have it as a staple but one thing’s for sure, every time they refill it, it gets wiped out in a minute. Its crispy skin and soft meat with that distinctive Cebu lechon flavor brings a fiesta to the mouth.

Other dishes they had on that day were:

California Maki – I tried a couple of pieces and it was okay.

Fried Tofu with Black Beans & Oyster Sauce – here’s a dish that’s healthy and delicious. I’ll definitely try to make this at home.

Salpicao – their version has a lot of sauce in it which sort of masks the customary garlicky taste.

Braised Roast Beef – the meat is so soft complemented with the added sauce.

Alaskan Fish Cake – this fish croquette is another deliciously healthy dish which you will not usually find in other buffets in the metro.

Beef Stir-fry with Chili Sauce – sweet, savory and spiced just right this beef dish is also a must-try.

Of course they also have different types of rice, steamed vegetables, soup of the day and your choice of salad.

For something sweet their constant fare is their MYO (make your own) Halo-Halo, an assortment of pastries and another must-try, their Mango Tapioca Pudding.

So there you have it! I really enjoyed 7 Flavors Buffet Restaurant and highly recommend for everyone to try it with your family, when you have special occasions or weekend eats, even have your meetings there! When you reserve one of their function rooms and or private rooms you may choose the food that you’ll be served. Don’t just take my owrd for it, try it!
