#latepost My Lemon Butter Garlic Chicken version (swipe to the left for procedure photos & videos) Ingredients: chicken breasts, filleted lemon, juiced garlic, sliced spring onions, minced salt & pepper butter Procedure: – in a bowl, season chicken with salt & pepper and add lemon juice; marinate chicken for at least 30minutes – heat pan in medium and add butter – sauté garlic until golden brown and set aside; quickly add in spring onions (10seconds) and set aside – add in chicken fillets and cook 5-7minutes each side or no longer pink in the center – serve topped the garlic & spring onions 👍🏼Tips: – If you want to make a sauce: you can add cornstarch w/ the lemon juice marinade & butter left in the pan, season w/ salt & pepper and cook for 3-5minutes – sautéing the garlic and spring onions in the butter releases flavor and setting it aside as toppings so as not to overcook and retain its flavor – you can also add a bit of olive oil do that the butter will not burn quickly #lemonbuttergarlicchicken #urmajestysiresfoodadventures #urmajestysiresfoodexperiments #urmajestysirestips . . . #food #foodporn #foodie #foodblog #foodblogger #lifestyleblog #lifestyleblogger #chickenrecipes #lemonbuttergarlic #healthyeats #healthyeating #healthychoices

Cannellini Bean Salad: A make ahead fiber-rich superfood for diabetics

I’m sharing a simple recipe to prevent diabetes, for borderline diabetics and diabetics.

White beans are known as the diabetic’s superfood because of its balance of protein and complex carbohydrates. Aside from soluble fiber which controls blood cholesterol levels, it contains saponins and phytoserols which help lower cholesterol. Its loaded with potassium, iron, folate, manganese, B vitamins and its low in fat. Eat it in moderation to improve cognitive abilities and its great for detox. Incorporating white beans in your diet can reduce the risk of potential cancer and even brain aneurysms.

However, avoid it if you suffer from high uric acid or gout. It may also trigger migraines or allergic reactions so consult your doctor when this happens.

blog_april_ampalaya salad_watermark

I’m sharing this salad recipe, another ‘experiment’ that can be served as a side dish with fried or grilled fish or meat. There’s also a variation if you wish to have it a bit savory or spicy.

This recipe is not really new but with the coming holiday season, its a healthier alternative to side dishes with rich sauces and dips.

Hope you like it and thanks for the click!

Creme De Cacao: Chimara Feel Good Kitchen’s chocolate cake is a must-try!

chimara feel good kitchen_creme de cacao 3_edited

The food adventure at Chimara Feel Good Kitchen was tasty and filling so the ‘leave room for dessert’ part became a to-go. They have Cranberry Oat Cookies then but opted for Creme de Cacao for reasons of comparison with other chocolate fares in the metro (nah, because its chocolate hehe!)

Asking about the cacao they use, they said its organic but of course not sugar-free because it would alter the taste. Coffee or tea would be nice to go with any dessert so I also suggested it and they said its in the works. That being said, went home with a big smile and a full (of healthy food) tummy.

Come coffee/tea time the next day (3pm, I know very Titas of Manila hehe!), had water boiling and brought out the Creme de Cacao. First bite and hands down its so delicious! I stand corrected, it can stand on its own sans coffee or tea.

You can taste its rich goodness without any cacao after taste or grainy texture. The ‘frosting’ I swear they should also make chocolate bars of it and the cake part is moist, fluffy and you can also taste the cacao goodness. I highly recommend it not just for chocolate lovers, chocoholics, and sweet tooth’s but for those who are looking for a healthier alternative.
