Manila Art – Symphony of Seasons 2 at the Galerie Nine – 4th level SM Megamall starting Oct. 20
For almost a couple of years now I have been posting about the celluloid works and TV shows of multi-awarded International Film and Television Director and Cinematographer, Louie Lagdameo Ignacio.
Often the posts are very general and focused on the works rather than the director. Admittedly, I have difficulty to encapsulate what I want to say. Aside from being blessed to belong to Basta Every Day Happy (2014) and Sarap Diva TV (2012 to present) shows, I have admired his work on ‘Asintado’ (2014), ‘Child Haus’ (2015), ‘Laut’ (2016) and ‘Area’ (2016), etc. I often tease him as the “best actress-maker” because Aiko Melendez, Barbie Forteza and Ai-Ai Delas Alas received such a prestigious recognition internationally when they acted on his films.
Only a few know that Direk Louie is also a painter. In CEU (Centro Escolar Universty, his alma mater), his paintings are displayed just outside the LAH seminar rooms 2 and 3.
He has worked with different mediums like watercolor, acrylic and even ‘calado’ (latticework) and has had solo exhibitions since 2010. Each and every exhibit presents a different experience from vivid colors to dramatic monochromatic masterpieces.
IGNACIO Landscapes at Manila Art 2017 overflowed with vibrant colors and meticulous brush techniques. Its like you’re transported to a vast field on a sunny day or taking in the sunset across a canyon while the moon slowly rises – I can go on and on but trust me, you just have to experience his amazing works of art.
What follows are clips and photos from Manila Art 2017.
